Rideau Community Support Services (RCSS) is continually looking for energetic volunteers to help assist with our programs and services. Join our volunteer team and you will learn new skills, gain new insights and help someone maintain their independence and remain in our community.

Volunteer Opportunities Available:

Meals on Wheels

Help deliver hot meals and/or frozen meals and provide a vital security check for isolated people in our community.

Friendly Visiting

Become a volunteer visitor and provide friendship and support to a senior or adult with disabilities in their home. The matches are based on common interests or hobbies of both applicants, so it is an enjoyable experience for all.

Transportation

It you have a car, people in our community would be grateful for your help to get to medical appointments, the bank, social gatherings, hospital visits, shopping, etc.  Volunteer drivers are reimbursed for their mileage.

Diners' Programs

Volunteers are required to assist with the set up of tables and the serving of hot meals to seniors.  Opportunity to visit and socialize with the seniors is a perk!

Office

As a Front Desk Receptionist Volunteer, duties include the answering the phone, booking and confirming foot care and hearing appointments, transportation drives, and other office related duties.

Shopping Assistant

Volunteers are needed on the regular Tuesday Shopping Bus and the quarterly shopping trips to the mall to assist seniors and adults with physical disabilities with personal shopping as required.

Fundraising

Volunteers are always needed to assist in the various fundraising events which take place throughout the year.

Income Tax

If you are interested in assisting with the preparation of tax returns for seniors and  adults with disabilities, join our volunteer team.  Training provided by Revenue Canada.

Perhaps you have a special talent and would like to share those gifts with us (i.e. music, crafts, fitness, etc.). We need your assistance. Be a volunteer!
